Simulation Software

Capabilities

FEL has developed a full range of simulation software programmes for power converters and motor drives. The software is written in C++ and objects have been developed to model the behaviour of passive components and active power switches. Further models have also been developed to allow rotating machines and other magnetic components to be incorporated within the system simulation. Software classes for FPGA based digital control and microcontroller/DSP control have been developed to more accurately simulate a real power electronics system. These tools allow FEL to quickly develop prototype power converters and motor drives to meet the required specification.
